More is shed and less remains.

Necrocratic intimacy (détournement de The Corpse Bride de Reza Negarestani)

In an ontology of death, life vitalizes unliving matter by submitting itself to the corpse, while animating it. In its intimacy with the reign of putrefaction, life avoids mortification and attests itself as it is that which remains in the process of shedding what is vitalized extraneously. The continuation of this subtractive procedure attests the continuation of life. More is shed and less remains. Openness to what life is not (necrophilic intimacy) contributes to survival (remaining), which coincides with decay (remaining less) and closure (remaining in itself).

In an anorexic world, a subject is submitted to the body – Körper – while submitting it – Leib. In its “complicities with anonymous materials”, subjectivity avoids objectification and attests itself as it is that which remains in the process of shedding what it objectifies. The continuation of this subtractive procedure attests the continuation of subjectivity. More is shed and less remains. Openness to what the subject is not (necrophobic intimacy) contributes to subjectivity (remaining), which coincides with decay (remaining less) and closure (remaining in itself).

In a physical world, a living subject is corporeal. In its “complicities with anonymous materials”, subjectivity avoids objectification and attests itself as it is that which constitutes itself in the process of experiencing what it objectifies. The continuation of this co-constitutional procedure attests the continuation of subjectivity. Openness to what the subject is not (intentionality) co-constitutes subjectivity and objectivity.
